Adopt a Domestic Short Hair (short coat)

Lola is about 7 years old. She is very shy but will warm up with time, a quiet environment, and kindness. She is frightened around new people and noises and will seek out a safe place. Lola likes to be pet, especially around her face and neck. She looks into your eyes very deeply as if trying to figure out how serious you are about loving her. She is extremely affectionate at bed time and often will sleep on the pillow, will let you cuddle with her, and purrs very loudly when she is getting settled for the night. She even snores a little bit! 

While she is currently living with a quiet dog, she might do best in a forever home without a dog or at least with a very quiet one, since the barking is scary to her. Lola likes to play with kitty toys, especially a wand with a feather on the end. She would probably do best as an only cat since she insists upon having a clean litter box and will use other litter box-like receptacles if her litter box is too dirty. Lola is looking for a patient, gentle adopter who understands how the aforementioned stressors affect her and is open to cultivating Lola's sweet, gentle nature.

Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes that every pet should find a wonderful, caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask that you fill out an adoption application form so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application we receive and will contact you as quickly as possible. A home visit will be scheduled before any pet is adopted to a new home. Once a home visit has taken place and the adoption application has been approved, we will ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement form. Our adoption fees help cover the cost of spay/neuter, veterinary exams, vaccinations, microchipping, and foster care. Highly requested breeds help cover the vet costs incurred by some of our other cats, enabling us to save more lives!

• $250 for purebred/highly requested kittens (6 months & under)


• $150 for purebred/highly requested cats (older than 6 months)


• $150 for kittens (6 months & under)   


• $75 for cats (older than 6 months)   


• $35 for senior cats (8 years or older)
